What happens at a Baptism

The sign of the cross is made on the forehead in blessed oil.

 

Water is poured into the font.

 

Water from the River Jordan is added to the water in the font.

 

The person is baptised with water in the name of

the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

 

Water from the font is splashed on the congregation.

 

A baptism candle is lit from the Easter Candle

and given to the person who has been baptised.
